Brazil – Fazenda Santa Catarina

Gilson has been a coffee producer since 1988. The Santa Catarina Farm was inherited by his father and over the years he has invested in machinery and equipment to benefit his own coffee. Planting and harvesting are done 100% manually and according to technical guidelines.

 

Zona da Mata is a region of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, located in the southeastern part of the state, along the border of the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. The region has many hills and elevations range from 100 to 1,900 meters. The main river is the Paraíba do Sul.
Because of its location, it produces some of the best coffee in the region; it took first place in the annual Brazilian Quality Coffee for Espresso Awards in 2007. Zona da Mata was the richest region of Minas Gerais from the 1850s to 1930s thanks to coffee and milk production.
