Brazil – Fazenda Maria Celeste – Natural

We didn’t have any Brazil coffees in our assortment for a while. Although Brazils often have a very conventional flavour – chocolate and nutty – we feel they also belong in our assortment. Next to all the tropical and strawberry notes, we can celebrate the sweet chocolate and caramel flavours too. This particular Brazil is great as a thick espresso, powerful in your cappuccino and sweet as a filter coffee.

This coffee is coming from Fazenda Maria Celeste. The Maria Celeste was a Spanish ship named after the daughter of Galileo Galilei. The ship is supposed to be found abandoned in the late 19th century a few weeks after sailing away from port. Nobody ever found out what happened, which makes it quite similar to the story of the Flying Dutchman.

The farm belongs to Maria Carvalho and is 180 Ha. wide. That is far above average, but still far away from the biggest farms. Brazil has a high altitude but flat ground, which makes it able to grow good quality coffee and machine harvest the cherries.

We ship on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
